Advocating for Californians Impacted by PANS/PANDAS

ABOUT CalCoalition for
PANS/PANDAS Advocacy
The California Coalition for PANS/PANDAS Advocacy (CalCoalition) is a dedicated alliance of parents, students, educators, medical professionals, survivors, and advocates united by personal experience with PANS/PANDAS. Founded by educators and mothers, CalCoalition is driven by an urgent need to promote awareness, understanding, and action.

Our mission is to shine a light on these often-misunderstood neuroimmune disorders, advocate for early diagnosis and effective treatment, push for increased research funding, and ensure that children affected by PANS/PANDAS receive the educational support and accommodations they deserve.

PANS/PANDAS are acronyms for a group of autoimmune disorders that affect the brain and result in neuropsychiatric symptoms. PANS stands for Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome, while PANDAS stands for Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections. These disorders are often misdiagnosed, leading to delayed treatment and increased suffering for patients.

CalCoalition's efforts to increase awareness and advocacy for PANS/PANDAS are vital in ensuring that patients receive the necessary diagnosis and treatment for their condition. We believe that every individual deserves access to quality healthcare, and we strive to make this a reality for those affected by PANS/PANDAS.
